Homework will be given everyday in a homework folder and is expected to be returned in the folder the following day. Nightly homework is given to instill the lifeskill of responsibility in each 2nd grader. Below is a list of assignments given each day.
- Monday: Spelling words sent home, Reading, Math Facts practice, PDF time
- Tuesday: Tic Tac Toe Spelling
- Wednesday: Reading, Math Facts practice, spelling words practice, PDF time
- Thursday: Reading, Math Facts practice, spelling words, practice, PDF time
- Friday: "Take a Peek at My Week", Rheem ROCK's and Reading Log
Students are to Practice Rheem ROCKS (math facts) at least 3 times during the week and read every night. This practice is recorded on their Reading/Math logs.
2nd Grade Home
Your Super Second Grade Teachers are Ms. Guidi, Mr. Thomson, and Mrs. Bailey. They can be found in the halls of Spirit Way, in Rooms 11-13.
Second Grade is a year filled with beautiful creations and descriptive writing. Your children will continue their science education with visits to The Gardens at Heather Farms.
And, of course, the field trip that draws more fathers than mother chaperones, is our annual trip to ATT Park.
Below you will find standard policies regarding homework. You will be notified of class field trips as they are scheduled. You can also check the website calendar to verify upcoming event dates and times.
Every month, our Second Graders celebrate themes. Their school work is reflected in these themes.
