Science Fair Spring 2017

Online Application

To enter the Rheem 2017 Science Fair please complete the online application.

Applications are due by Friday, February 17th.

Looking forward to seeing all the amazing entries!

Can the team members be from different classes?

Yes. Team members can be siblings, friends from other classes or grades as long as they are in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in Rheem Elementary School.

Does each team member have to submit a report and a board?

No.  Each team will have to submit one report and make one board for the Science Fair. Each team needs to submit only one application form with the email addresses for the parents of all the team members.

Do we have to buy our own board?

No.  Boards will be given to the students a week before the Science Fair.

Is the Science Fair mandatory?

No.  But you learn about lot of fun stuff doing your experiment and from other students’ experiments.

Can I participate in more than one team?

We discourage students to participate in more than one team.  Completing an experiment, writing a report, designing a presentation board - these are all labor intensive activities. It is better for a student to focus on one project and complete it than start several projects and drop out.

Is the Science Fair judged?

No. Every participating student gets a certificate signed by Ms. Frank and a small prize.

Can we bring candies/pets to the Science Fair if we used candies/pets in our experiment?
No. Candies/Bubble gum/pets/electric cords/burning candles are not allowed in the Science Fair. Make sure to take pictures of your experiment for the display.
