Meet Mrs. Drury

Welcome to the 4th grade in Room 4! I am so excited to start another year at Rheem! I have been teaching for a little over 8 years, the past 3 years here at Rheem, plus 5 and a half years in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.  In San Ramon I taught 4th  grade and 5th grade, as well as a specialized science lab.  Although I did not grow up in Moraga myself, I have been a part of the community through my in-laws for the past decade.  My husband’s family has made Moraga a second home for me; a community I am happy to now be contributing to.  (I attended every Campolindo graduation from 2003 – 2012, along with many sporting events, farmers markets, and fireworks on the golf course.)

I am excited to be a Rheem parent as well as teacher; my oldest son is entering 3rd grade, my second will be in 1st, and their sister will hopefully be joining us in Kindergarten.  I also have a 5 month old who can't wait to be a Roadrunner. My 4 children keep me busy at home, and remind me of why my job is so important when I am at school.  I truly love teaching students how to succeed at and have enthusiasm for learning.  I believe it is important to educate children in a manner that promotes a life-long interest in learning, including the ability to question and problem solve.

Again, I welcome you to the 4th grade in room 4, and look forward to getting to know all of you and your children. Please feel free to contact me, email is best, and I will get back to you at my earliest convenience. I am so excited to be a part of the Rheem Team again this year!

Smarter Balanced Testing

This year, Rheem 3rd – 5th graders, will participate in Common Core aligned SBAC testing during the designated two-week periods listed below:

The SBAC tests are untimed, but based on the estimated testing times, students will be working on the test for 45 – 60 minutes a day during their assigned weeks.  Specific testing times each day will be determined by each classroom teacher.  Please avoid scheduling appointments during the weeks that are designated for your child’s grade level.

To learn about the types of questions on the computer-based test, you and your child can view the practice test at this link:
